Here’s how to stay safe while using public Wi-Fi:
1. Avoid accessing sensitive information
Do not log into your bank, enter passwords, or make online purchases while connected to public Wi-Fi. If it’s urgent, consider using your mobile data instead.
2. Use a VPN (Virtual Private Network)
A VPN encrypts your internet traffic, making it harder for hackers to intercept what you’re doing online. It’s one of the most effective ways to protect your privacy on public networks.
3. Turn off file sharing and AirDrop
Make sure file sharing, printer sharing, and AirDrop (for Apple users) are turned off. These features can be exploited by attackers to access your device.
